The monograph explores the influence of Western philosophy on the development of intellectual discourse in China. It examines how the ideas of John Dewey and other pragmatists were adapted in China, particularly in the context of social reforms and modernization. The study analyzes the development of analytical philosophy in China, focusing on periods of its suppression and revival, and the impact of Western thinkers such as Bertrand Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein on Chinese philosophical thought. It highlights how Chinese intellectuals interpreted and adapted the concepts of Antonio Gramsci and György Lukács, as well as the influence of the Frankfurt School on the evolution of Sinicized Marxism. Additionally, the book investigates the integration of phenomenology, postmodernism, deconstruction, and Freudo-Marxism into Chinese intellectual discourse.
